EXPERIENCE
What we do at The Tooth Shop
The Tooth Shop is a Gilbert pediatric dentist that cares for infants, children, and teens, including kids with sensory sensitivities and special needs, in a calm environment where sedation and in-house laser tongue and lip tie release are available when a child needs them. Dr. Jaron Perkins built the practice around one idea: a child who feels safe at the dentist becomes an adult who keeps showing up.
Here is what that looks like for your family:
Who We Treat
Infants through the teen years, with room for kids who need extra patience.
Comfort & Sedation Options
Nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, moderate conscious sedation, and IV sedation, matched to what a procedure actually calls for.
In-House Laser Care
Tongue and lip tie release for babies and children, handled here instead of sent across town.
For Parents Too
Reserved appointment times for Botox and dermal fillers, from a provider your family already knows.
Getting Started
Schedule a first visit online, or call 480-525-7110.
What makes The Tooth Shop different?
Plenty of offices say they are good with kids. Fewer are set up for the child who covers their ears in a loud waiting room, or the one who needs to be fully asleep to get a cavity treated safely. That is the child we planned for first.
Quiet, sensory-friendly rooms
Spaces designed to lower the noise and visual overload that make dental visits hard for some kids.
Real experience with special needs
Care shaped around how your child communicates and copes, at their pace.
A full range of sedation, under one roof
From light nitrous oxide to IV sedation, so a nervous or younger patient can get complete treatment safely.
One provider who knows your family
The same trusted face for your child’s checkups and, when you want them, your own aesthetic services like Botox and fillers.
That last point is the part families rarely expect: you can book your own appointment with the person already caring for your kids, without adding another provider to your week.
Care for growing smiles
Explore the full range of pediatric dental services at The Tooth Shop. Each visit is built around prevention first and honest recommendations, never treatment your child does not need.
Cleanings and exams
Routine checkups, cleanings, and digital imaging that keep small problems small. We use each visit to coach kids (and parents) on habits that actually stick at home.
Special needs and sensory-friendly care
Quiet rooms, flexible pacing, and a team that reads your child instead of rushing them. Tell us ahead of time what helps, and we will have it ready.
Sedation options
Some kids breeze through treatment. Others need help staying calm and still. We offer nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, moderate conscious sedation, and IV sedation, and we use the lightest level that gets the job done.

Dental Emergencies
Fast, compassionate care for tooth pain, injuries, or urgent concerns—often with same-day appointments available.
Tongue and lip tie release
When a restricted tongue or lip tie makes feeding, nursing, or speech harder, Dr. Perkins releases it with a gentle laser procedure for infants and children, often in a single visit.
Aesthetic services for parents
While your kids are the priority, we hold dedicated times for adult Botox and dermal fillers, so a parent can get natural-looking results from a provider they already trust.
Your child’s first visit
The best first appointment is short and low-pressure. We recommend a first visit by age one, or within six months of that first tooth. Plan on about 30 to 45 minutes of a friendly “happy visit,” often done lap-to-lap for the littlest patients, where we count and check teeth, do a gentle cleaning, and walk you through what comes next. The goal is a kid who leaves curious instead of scared.
Insurance and payment
Good care should not come with a guessing game about cost. We accept Delta Dental (PPO, Premier, and other plans), United Healthcare, Humana, Nationwide, BlueCross BlueShield, and Medicaid, and our team will help you understand your benefits before treatment begins.
For cash pay patients we have membership options that provide your child with two visits/year + a discount on any additional service like sealants. We accept credit cards and have financing options as well. Ask us what fits your family.

Common questions from parents
When should my child first see a Gilbert pediatric dentist?
By age one, or within six months of their first tooth. Early visits are short and gentle, and they help us catch small issues while building your child’s comfort with the chair from the very start.
What sedation options do you offer for kids?
We offer nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, moderate conscious sedation, and IV sedation. The right choice depends on your child’s age, anxiety level, and the treatment planned, and we always aim for the lightest effective option.
Can you treat a child with sensory sensitivities or special needs?
Yes. We use quiet, sensory-friendly rooms and adjust the pace to your child. Share what helps and what to avoid before the visit, and we will plan around it.
Do you release tongue and lip ties in-house?
We do. Dr. Perkins performs laser tongue and lip tie release for infants and children here at the office, which can ease nursing, feeding, and speech development without a separate referral.
What will treatment cost, and do you take my insurance?
Every child’s needs are different, so we give you a clear estimate before we begin rather than a number online. We accept major plans including Delta Dental, United Healthcare, Humana, Nationwide, BlueCross BlueShield, and Medicaid, plus financing through CareCredit, Sunbit, and Proceed Financial.
Can parents book Botox or filler appointments here?
Yes. We reserve dedicated times for adult aesthetic treatments like Botox and dermal fillers, so a parent can be seen by the same provider who cares for their children.
Ready when your family is
Booking takes about a minute. Reserve a spot online or call us, and we will help you get your child in.
